Convolvulus arvensis (Bindweed)
Fairly common, non-native annual herb found in scattered locations on the Preserve particularly in open areas and grasslands. Flower are white to pink. Leaves vary wildly. Blooms in spring to summer. Can be confused with native morning glory (Calystegia) but has much smaller flower size and different shaped leaves.
Convolvulus arvensis (bindweed) looks similar to the native Calystegia macrostegia (Coast morning-glory). The photo above shows a comparison between Convolvulus arvensis (left) and Calystegia macrostegia (right). Note the difference in size and leaf shape.
