Artemisia californica (California sagebrush)
Common native perennial shrub found in coastal sage-scrub plant community and at restoration sites. Flowers are yellow and inconspicuous. Blooms in spring. Leafs are aromatic (sage like small). Note: although the common name for this plant includes the word "sage" it is not a true sage (which is in the mint family) but is a member of the sunflower family.
