Plants of the San Marcos Foothills Preserve
Delairea odorata (Cape-ivy)
Uncommon, non-native annual vine found in only one location on the Preserve (at the spring near the Antone Road entrance). Blooms in late winter through spring. This is a highly invasive plant, which colonizes large areas. It kills native vegetation by complexly covering it. Attempts are being made to eradicate the species from the Preserve.
