Cortaderia selloana (Pampas grass)

Un-common non-native perennial grass found mostly on private property north of the Preserve but also spreading on to the Preserve in upper Cieneguitas Creek. Flowers are white (grass like). Blooms fall through early spring. This is a highly invasive plant that can quickly spread and degrade native habitat. This plant can be confused with its close relative Cortaderia jubata (Jubata Grass) which his taller inflorescences.
